Our Story

How it started

We are a family of four living in North London. Family Home Fine Art is born from a project to source paintings for our Victorian family home. We were looking for affordable original artworks that would give charm, beauty, harmony to our home with this hint of nostalgy and warmth that only some original oil paintings can offer; something that would help us to create a colourful and peaceful homely oasis to restore ourselves on a daily basis after a long day in the grey city.

Something Special

We also always loved the concept of acquiring special paintings we would truly love, and that we could transmit one day to our daughters. Not only it was important for us to expose and surround our kids with inspiring artworks on a daily basis, but we wanted pictures that they could grow up with, that would form part of their childhoods, and that we would eventually be able to transmit one day to them. Beyond the transmission of a financial patrimony, the transmission of their parents perception of beauty.

Love Monet, Degas, but..

We have always been enthuisiastic visitors of paintings exhibitions wondering what it may be like for one of these few lucky private collectors to live every day alongside such master pieces in their own home. Having ruled out the headlines multi millions masters for obvious budgetaty reasons, we discovered that amazing opportunities existed to acquire beautiful original artworks from what the French call “les petits maitres” (“the little masters”), these painters who have exercised their talent at the same time, or even in the direct circles, of their well known peers but who never quite made the international headlines despite having realised sometimes exceptional quality artworks.

Lifestyle

This journey to research these little masters, which started as a hobby became a life style which bring us today to the most remote corners of France, regional museums, successions, auction houses, to document and source only original art works that we trully fall in love with. After having filled our house with arts, the ones of our friends and later friends of friends, Family Home Fine Art was born.
